The Class of 2021 Scholarship Awards ProgramThe Class of 2021 Scholarship Awards Program will take place on June 10th at 7PM (Virtually).   Although Guidance receives information on most of the scholarships awarded to our graduating seniors, at times, graduates receive other scholarships we are not made aware of.  If you have been awarded a scholarship and would like it included in our 2021 Scholarship Awards presentation on June 10th – please email your acknowledgement letter by May 18th to: Subject Line to read:  SCHOLARSHIP.

Please note that any financial aid or college funds awarded by the college you will attend are not included in this presentation, this is strictly for scholarships you have applied for and been awarded. Anything received after the 18th will NOT be in our presentation.

What is the FAFSA®?  The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®) is an online form that must be submitted annually by current and prospective college students (undergraduate and graduate) in the United States to determine their eligibility for federal student financial aid.

  • 2019 Tax Returns for Parent and Student
  • Social Security Numbers for Parent and Student
  • Other Income Information
  • State Issued Driver's License
  • Documentation as U.S. Permanent Residents or Eligible Citizens

College Planning and Financial Aid Night for Junior Parents

Description:    SPHS School Counselors and Edward Hill, Director of Financial Aid at Rider University, put together a very informative presentation for parents of current 11th graders about the journey and process from mid-Junior  year to stepping onto campus in the Fall of their Freshman year of college.

ASVAB Career Exploratory Program -

South Plainfield High School will be hosting a representative from the ASVAB Career Exploration Program who will be administering the ASVAB Exam on Tuesday, December 14, 2021 from 8am-11am.  The exam is open to any Senior who wishes to take it, as well as any Senior still needing to pass an assessment for graduation.  For more information on the ASVAB Exam, please see your counselor or click on link below:

Financing an Education: An Overview of Financial Aid
The South Plainfield High School Guidance Department hosted the annual College and Financial Night for Parents.  This important and informative virtual presentation for parents of Seniors (and Juniors too!) featured  the Guidance Department as well as  Edward Hill, who is the Director of Financial Aid at Rider University.   See link above for the PowerPoint  from the financial aid presentation.
