Student Identification and Participation

Procedures for Identification and Participation in the 9-12 Gifted and Talented Program:

  1. Students and Parents have the opportunity to fill out an online application within a prescribed period of time.
  2. Students are selected using multiple criteria, including various standardized test scores, report card grades, teacher recommendations and an interview with the selection committee at their discretion
  3. The Gifted and Talented committee reviews all applications and makes the final determination of who is accepted.
  4. Letters of acceptance are sent to the parents/guardians of students recommended for the program, with an option to decline participation.
  5. Students accepted into the program have access to a Google Folder which is continually updated with enrichment opportunities in all areas. They are responsible for monitoring the folder and selecting which opportunities are of interest to them.
